Cambridge for International Primary Program
We are in the process of using The Cambridge International Primary Program from the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) that gives young children excellent preparation for secondary education.
We are preparing the children to take the Cambridge International Primary Achievement Tests, which show the progression of each child’s ability through primary education from CIPP, which focuses on English, Mathematics and Science. All students whom pass the tests will be issued with a Primary Certificate of Achievement by the University of Cambridge International Examinations.
Aside from its flexibility, we choose the CIPP because:
1. It can be taken alongside the national curriculum or on its own,
2. It is an excellent framework for learning in the primary years and provides a solid foundation for each child’s future,
3. It is an international assessment and measurement that offers accurate and quality benchmark to assist our school and students compete in international academic standard.
We are also using the theme-based approach for grade 1 to 3 in five subjects; English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Creative Arts and Science. Teachers set up the classroom with theme-related materials and plan the activities ahead based on the theme and what they want the children to study and learn. Using themes, teachers create a positive learning environment and motivate students with enthusiastic and imaginative presentation.
