To be a good teacher while teaching is not about the character of the teacher himself but the ability to manage the class during the learning process. A teacher that has a good character can also be emotionally distracted with a student with inappropriate manner. One of the things that will make students be orderly manageable is to give some meaningful activities which means giving them some activities in class that will keep them excited in doing it. Some of teachers love to give their students such hard tasks in hope that students will be busy doing it and they won’t be bothered during teaching. Matter of fact it only applies to students who behave well, while other students will get bored because they feel the teacher give them difficult task with no way out which ended up with throwing a tantrum.
By the difficult task given by teacher will make students who have problem with behavior are easy to occur some problem in class and it will make teacher feel doing a failure in teaching at the edges.
There are some ways to make the learning process become more fun and meaningful for students, such as:
- Make your own lesson plan for a week. Plan it in a team both formally and informally about your ideas of teaching plan with fellow teachers.
- Always evaluate your lesson plan before and after lesson.
- Sleep well every night. This may important to keep your emotion stable.
- Go to class 3 to 5 minutes earlier to prepare yourself before teaching.
- Think of 3 other activities plan in teaching, so when your students are finish with their task they will still have something worth to do. For instance ask students to actively help or assist their friends who find any difficulties in class.
- While teaching gives some time to motivate students, it helps you to know your students’ character and give them some encouragement.
- Reduce ‘one man show’ style in teaching and passion to lecture students or too preachy. Let students be active in class as long as it is in a positive way.
- Try to be friendly and make them friends so you too can understand their feelings and any difficulties they found during your lesson.
